New Year, New Name and New stART for Arts in Tees Valley

A New Year, a new name and a New Year party with a difference, is on the cards for Tees Valley Arts. On Wednesday 28 January 2004, the Cornerhouse, Middlesbrough is playing host to Tees Valley Arts’ New Year Party.

The evening starts at 6.00pm with the AGM and is then followed by the New Year Party at 6.30pm, which will provide an opportunity to find out more about Tees Valley Arts and to network with other artists and those interested in the arts. It promises to be a lively event with a magician plus live band, Root Melody and DJ Tee Liburd.

Working in the Tees Valley since 1982, Tees Valley Arts has played an important role in making arts and creativity accessible within education, local communities and local organisations alike. Previously known as Cleveland Arts, the new name of Tees Valley Arts was adopted in December 2003.

Lesley Featherstone, Senior Programme Manager, Tees Valley Arts says: ‘We decided to host a New Year Party rather than a traditional AGM to ring the changes and celebrate the wealth of cultural and artistic talent in the Tees Valley. I’m sure it will be a great evening and I’m looking forward to seeing faces both old and new.’
