Welcome one and all, to the TVA Summer 2013 Newsletter. The very word ‘summer’ conjures up notions of heat and sunshine and buzzing bees – we shall see. At the time of writing this we are in what should be mid spring, but as we are all aware, this year isn’t going to pattern, and everything is actually just starting out. One of my very favourite paintings in the world is ‘The May Tree’ by Stanley Spencer, and I particularly look forward to the arrival of the fluffy clouds of white blossom under the bright blue sky, just as he depicts.
