TVA in partnership with Teesside University, in celebration of Black History Month, present an exceptional opportunity to see and hear the legendary, Benjamin Zephaniah – writer, lyricist, musician and trouble-maker – who is accurately described as Britain’s most filmed, photographed and identifiable poet.
Benjamin combines poetry, music and political activism and is surely Britain’s only Professor of Poetry and Writing (Brunel University) to have fan clubs around the world, and to have once been number one in the Yugoslavian hit parade!
This intimate event will allow you to hear from Benjamin first hand about his career, his poetry and his dyslexia and to ask him questions. Please note: numbers are restricted for this event and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis; Booking is essential.
TVA is a participatory arts organisation, based in Middlesbrough and working across the Tees Valley, helping people change and improve their lives by taking part in the arts. TVA is a small organisation which makes a big impact in imaginative and unexpected ways.
