Sweet Water: Summoning the Rain Snake

Summoning the Rain Snake

Clouds come, clouds come

Cover the face of the fierce sun

Shade the earth from its glare

Our throats are dry, we may die

Call the rain-snake from its lair

Clouds burst, clouds burst

Shed your tears upon parched earth

Cool our brows, wet our lips

So we may slake our thirsts
