Art Week with Bub at High Coniscliffe

As part of River Tees Rediscovered, Tees Valley Arts contracted artist Bub Bacon to work with pupils at High Coniscliffe school to explore their Roman heritage, inspired by the nearby Roman remains at Piercebridge.

High Coniscliffe School and the Roman Fort at Piercebridge

Roman School, Workshop 3, Pierce Bridge

Artist Bub Bacon will be starting a week-long residency at High Coniscliffe Primary School outside Darlington, as part of our River Tees Rediscovered engagement programme, next week.

This residency, in partnership with Tees Archeology, will be focusing on the history of the local Roman fort and bridge crossing at Piercebridge. In preparation, pupils visited the site this week. Read more here:
