INTUNE book cover

INTUNE: Cat

Fit for the fight, sprightly, brisk and adroit.
Caprice and lively, scratching, biting and such agile stealth
Then languid, when it pleases. Mistress with slow breath,
Equal to the rumbling of tranquillity, distant
As a quiet thunder, almost stifled by its own serenity.
Sleek frame, stretched on the lap of the same. Alike,
These two, fe-line and fe-male! Both encouraged
By the bond of rapturous delight to be immersed
In a world within a world; that needs no meaning
Yet has more than that which most endure
And time matters not in the stillness of these moments
Like warm snowflakes falling all around;
Whilst flames reach out and escape the core,
Dancing light into the gloom; casting shadows
As, weightless fingers caressing snug fur,
Make for a bed of sublime exaltation
Impervious! No pain, no fear
But rich and oh, so very dear.
